Agreement 1. Be impeccable with your word.
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.
Impeccable means “without sin” and a sin is something you do or believe that goes against yourself. It means not speaking against yourself, to yourself or to others. It means not rejecting yourself. To be impeccable means to take responsibility for yourself, to not participate in “the blame game.”
Regarding the word, the rules of “action-reaction” apply. What you put out energetically will return to you. Proper use of the word creates proper use of energy, putting out love and gratitude perpetuates the same in the universe. The converse is also true.
Impeccability starts at home. Be impeccable with yourself and that will reflect in your life and your relationships with others. This agreement can help change thousands of other agreements, especially ones that create fear instead of love.

The four agreements. Miguel Angel Ruiz
Don Miguel Ángel Ruiz (born 1952), better known as Don Miguel Ruiz, is a Mexican author of New Age spiritualist and neoshamanistic texts. His teaching is significantly influenced by the work of Carlos Castaneda.
His most famous and influential work, The Four Agreements, was published in 1997 and has sold around 4 million copies.[1] It was featured on the Oprah television show,[2] and advocates personal freedom from agreements and beliefs that we have made with ourselves and others that are creating limitation and unhappiness in our lives. Ultimately, it is about finding one's own integrity, self-love, and peace by way of absolving oneself from responsibility for the woes of others. The Four Agreements are:
- Be Impeccable With Your Word.
- Don't Take Anything Personally.
- Don't Make Assumptions.
- Always Do Your Best.
Ruiz also wrote a companion book to The Four Agreements. He then wrote several other books, including The Voice of Knowledge, Prayers, and The Mastery of Love.
Don Miguel Ruiz's son Don Jose Ruiz has subsequently released a sequel, The Fifth Agreement, which adds a further agreement:
- 5. Be Skeptical but Learn to Listen.
In Mary Carroll Nelson's Beyond Fear, he discusses some of his beliefs through a series of interviews, including his belief in the legend of Atlantis; his belief that the sun entered its sixth age on January 11, 1992, which should lead to a new age for humanity; and his belief in the spiritual power of the pyramid of the sun at Teotihuacan. Fluent in Spanish and English, he often lectures and leads retreats in the United States. Many of his students are American. In 2002 he suffered a massive heart attack, and spent nine weeks in a coma, but recovered although he was in pain for the next 8 years.[3] He has handed the Eagle-Knight lineage[clarification needed] over to his son Don José Luis. On October 9, 2010, Ruiz received a heart transplant at a hospital in Los Angeles, California. He was at a retreat in Wimberley, Texas, at the Lotus Ranch when he found out that a heart was available and had to charter a plane to get back to Los Angeles.[3]

The choice theory. William Glasser
The 1998 book, Choice Theory: A New Psychology of Personal Freedom, is the primary text for all that is taught by The William Glasser Institute. Choice theory states that:
- all we do is behave,
- that almost all behavior is chosen, and
- that we are driven by our genes to satisfy five basic needs: survival, love and belonging, power, freedom and fun.
In practice, the most important need is love and belonging, as closeness and connectedness with the people we care about is a requisite for satisfying all of the needs.
Choice theory, with the Seven Caring Habits, replaces external control psychology and the Seven Deadly Habits. External control, the present psychology of almost all people in the world, is destructive to relationships. When used, it will destroy the ability of one or both to find satisfaction in that relationship and will result in a disconnection from each other. Being disconnected is the source of almost all human problems such as what is called mental illness, drug addiction, violence, crime, school failure, spousal abuse, to mention a few.

The Ten Axioms of Choice Theory
- The only person whose behavior we can control is our own.
- All we can give another person is information.
- All long-lasting psychological problems are relationship problems.
- The problem relationship is always part of our present life.
- What happened in the past has everything to do with what we are today, but we can only satisfy our basic needs right now and plan to continue satisfying them in the future.
- We can only satisfy our needs by satisfying the pictures in our Quality World.
- All we do is behave.
- All behavior is Total Behavior and is made up of four components: acting, thinking, feeling and physiology.
- All Total Behavior is chosen, but we only have direct control over the acting and thinking components. We can only control our feeling and physiology indirectly through how we choose to act and think.
- All Total Behavior is designated by verbs and named by the part that is the most recognizable.
Reality Therapy. William Glasser
Reality Therapy is the method of counseling that Dr. Glasser has been teaching since 1965. Reality therapy is firmly based on choice theory and its successful application is dependent on a strong understanding of choice theory. Reality therapy training is available to anyone...the first step in learning this tool is to enroll in a Basic Intensive Training.
Since unsatisfactory or non-existent connections with people we need are the source of almost all human problems, the goal of reality therapy is to help people reconnect. To create a connection between people, the reality therapy counselor, teacher or manager will:
Since unsatisfactory or non-existent connections with people we need are the source of almost all human problems, the goal of reality therapy is to help people reconnect. To create a connection between people, the reality therapy counselor, teacher or manager will:
- Focus on the present and avoid discussing the past because all human problems are caused by unsatisfying present relationships.
- Avoid discussing symptoms and complaints as much as possible since these are the ways that counselees choose to deal with unsatisfying relationships.
- Understand the concept of total behavior, which meansfocus on what counselees can do directly - act and think. Spend less time on what they cannot do directly; that is, change their feelings and physiology. Feelings and physiology can be changed, but only if there is a change in the acting and thinking.
- Avoid criticizing, blaming and/or complaining and help counselees to do the same. By doing this, they learn to avoid some extremely harmful external control behaviors that destroy relationships.
- Remain non-judgmental and non-coercive, but encourage people to judge all they are doing by the choice theory axiom: Is what I am doing getting me closer to the people I need? If the choice of behaviors is not working, then the counselor helps clients find new behaviors that lead to a better connection.
- Teach counselees that legitimate or not, excuses stand directly in the way of their making needed connections.
- Focus on specifics. Find out as soon as possible who counselees are disconnected from and work to help them choose reconnecting behaviors. If they are completely disconnected, focus on helping them find a new connection.
- Help them make specific, workable plans to reconnect with the people they need, and then follow through on what was planned by helping them evaluate their progress. Based on their experience, counselors may suggest plans, but should not give the message that there is only one plan. A plan is always open to revision or rejection by the counselee.
- Be patient and supportive but keep focusing on the source of the problem - the disconnectedness. Counselees who have been disconnected for a long time will find it difficult to reconnect. They are often so involved in the symptom they are choosing that they have lost sight of the fact that they need to reconnect. Help them to understand, through teaching them choice theory and encouraging them to read the book, Choice Theory: A New Psychology of Personal Freedom, that whatever their complaint, reconnecting is the best possible solution to their problem.

Rocky Balboa speech to his son.
- You ain't gonna believe this, but you used to fit right here. I'd hold you up and say to your mother: this kid is going to be the best kid in the world. This kid is gonna be somebody better than anybody ever knew.
And you grew up good and wonderful. It was great just watching, every day was like a privilege. Then the time came for you to be your own man and take on the world and you did.
But somewhere along the line, you changed. You stopped being you. You let people stick a finger in your face and tell you you are not good. And when things got hard, you started looking for something to blame like a big shadow.
Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place, and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there if you let it. You, me or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!
If you know what you're worth, go and get what you are worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers, saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him or her or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain't you! You are better than that!
I'm always gonna love you no matter what. No matter what happens. You're my son and you're my blood. You are the best thing in my life. But until you start believing in yourself, you ain't gonna have a life.

Promised land
No, be encouraged today. Stay the course. Keep believing. You may be tired, discouraged and tempted to be frustrated, but don’t give up on your future. Stay on the high road. Our God is a faithful God. It may be taking a long time, but what He started He will finish in your life. Scripture says the eyes of the Lord search to and fro to find someone who will be faithful on His behalf. Be the person He finds faithful. Keep believing, keep praying, keep obeying and stay the course because He is leading you in the path of victory!

The present moment. by Alan Watts.
Life exists only at this very moment, and in this moment it is infinite and eternal. For the present moment is infinitely small; before we can measure it, it has gone and yet, persists forever.
Detachment by Alan Watts
Detachment means to have neither regrets for the past nor fears for the future; to let life to take its course without attempting to interfere with its movement and change, neither trying to prolong the stay of things pleasant not to hasten the departure of things unpleasant.

Inspirational quotes.
- Do it, and if doesn't work, do it again.
- A Cleaner can't ever accept that it's over. But he does recognize when it's time to change direction.
-It is not weak to recognize when it's time to change directions. It's weak to refuse to consider other options and fail at everything because you couldn't adapt to anything.
-In any situation, it's the courage and confidence to know it's time to make a change.
-I had no idea at that time that my greatest weakness would become my greatest strength, that experiencing every possible injury and surgery would allow me to help others to deal with the same, at the most elite level.
-You take what everyone else sees as a negative and turn it to your advantage. You don't sulk, you don't curl up and die, you glare at it and think, if it's not going to happen this way, it's sure as hell going to happen that way. And you tell anyone who doubts you "I got this"
-They anticipate failure, you anticipate opportunity.
-A Cleaner knows when to walk away, and which direction to walk. Never running, always walking. He leaves smoothly and on his own terms. He can lose a battle because he's still planning to win the war.
-The drive to close the gap between near-perfect and perfect is the difference between great and unstoppable.
-I don't have to watch the ball go into the basket, I know from looking at the shot whether it's going in.
-Nothing is impossible.
-I'm telling you that because my advice to my daughter is the same advice I pass along to you, so you know it's the truth: every dream you imagine, everything you see and hear and feel in your sleep, that's not a fantasy, that's your deep instinct telling you it can all be real. Follow those visions and dreams and desires, and believe what you know. Only you can turn those dreams into reality. Never stop until you do.
-The greatest battles you will ever fight are with yourself, and you must always be your toughest opponent. Always demand more of yourself than others demand of you. Be honest with yourself, and you'll be able to meet every challenge with confidence and the deep belief that you are prepared for anything. Life can be complicated. The truth is not

Relentless. Quotes V. By Tim Grover
- Show up, work hard and listen.
- No excuses and not explanation afterward. When the other guy sees you had some indecision, he’s going to try to negotiate. No is a closing door, no negotiation. Don’t explain, don’t make excuses.
- People who don’t pursue their own dreams probably won’t encourage you to pursue yours.
- If there’s a 2 percent chance that something will work, and a 98 percent chance that it won’t, he’ll take the 98 percent risk just to show he took the challenge and did what everyone else said couldn’t be done.
- Success and failure are 100 percent mental.
- A Cleaner never sees failure because to him it’s never over. If something doesn’t go as planned he instinctively looks for options to make things work a different way. He doesn’t feel embarrassed or ashamed, he doesn’t blame anyone else, and he doesn’t care what anyone else says about his situation. It’s never the end, it’s never over.
- If you ever find me and a bear wrestling in the woods, help the bear.
- Make the choice to turn “failure” into success. If you team doesn’t win a championship, if your business falls apart, if you don’t achieve something you worked for, move to the next step in you evolution. Remember who you are, and how you got this far. Listen to your gut. What is it telling you?
- The Cleaner strategizes for a different outcome.
- You tried your best or did you do your best? Huge difference. People who admit defeat and say they had no choice just aren’t serious about success, excellence, or themselves. They say they’ll try and then give up when doesn’t work. Fuck try. Trying in an open invitation to failure, just another way of saying; if I fail, it’s not my fault, I tried. Tell me what you did. Do, or don’t do. Do it, and if it doesn’t work, do it again. Did you do it this way? That way? Did you explore every idea you had? Is there anything else you could possibly do to turn things in your favor?
- A Cleaner can’t never accept it’s over. But he does recognize when it’s time to change direction. It is not weak to recognize when it’s time to shift directions. It’s weak to refuse to consider other options and fail at everything because you couldn’t adapt to anything. In any situation, it’s the courage and confidence to know it’s time to make a change.
- To become the best, I had to learn a lot of lessons about always being prepared to change direction, and refusing to get sucked into other people’s opinions of what it means to succeed or fail.
- As you sit back doing nothing because you are afraid to make a mistake, someone else is out there making all kinds of mistakes, learning from them, and getting to where you wanted to be. And probably laughing at your weakness.
-You don’t become unstoppable by following the crowd, you get there by doing something better than anyone else can do it,and proving every day why you are the best at what you can do.
- Why did not you trust yourself the first time?
- Can you get comfortable being uncomfortable?
- The most talented guy working harder than anyone else. (On Kobe)
- No fear of failure. That’s not about the myth of positive thinking. It’s about the hard work and preparation that go into knowing everything there is to know, letting go of your fears and insecurities, and trusting your ability to handle any situation.
- You have to be willing to fail if you are going to trust your yourself to act from the gut, and than adapt as you go. That’s the confidence that allows you to take risks and know that whatever happens, you will figure it out. Adapt, and adapt again.
- That’s how I learned: your figure it out.
- You miss one hundred percent of the shots you don’t take.
- As long as you continue to deny responsibility , you have the added burden of covering your mistake, and you know the truth will eventually come out anyway. Why bother prolonging the drama? You screwed up, admit it.
- Once you start blaming others, you’are admitting you had no control over the situation. And without that control, you can’t create a solution.
- Have the confidence to trust that you can handle anything.

Then squeeze lemon juice into any holes or cracks where the ants are getting in. Finally, scatter small slices of lemon peel around the outdoor entrance. The ants will get the message that they aren’t welcome. Lemons are also effective against roaches and fleas: Simply mix the juice of 4 lemons (along with the rinds) with 1/2 gallon (2 liters) water and wash your floors with it; then watch the fleas and roaches flee. They hate the smell.
